Akon Added to List of VMA Performers

 

More artists have been added to the list of performers at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards.

50 Cent, Akon and 17-year-old rapper Soulja Boy will strut their stuff on stage at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas on September 9.

Previously announced performers include Justin Timberlake, Kanye West, Rihanna, Amy Winehouse, Timbaland, Fall Out Boy, Chris Brown, the Foo Fighters, Nelly Furtado, Gym Class Heroes, Common, Lil' Wayne, T-Pain, Cee-Lo and Daniel Merriweather.

British sensations Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen had to pull the plug on their performances. Winehouse canceled due to her recent "health issues" and Allen will be a no show because of U.S. visa trouble.
